I’m Claire, a late-twenty-something living in London, England. I was diagnosed with coeliac disease in February 2012 and have been gluten free since my endoscopy that May. I have been taking photos of my food ever since with a view to starting a blog, and have finally taken the plunge in honour of Coeliac Awareness Week 2015.
I’m Canadian by birth and the first half of my childhood, then moved to New York at 10. I came to England for university because I wanted to study medieval history (a useful subject), and because I got to live in a castle at while at uni. I went on to masters and PhD, and it was during my second year of PhD that I was diagnosed. I have since left the ivory towers for the ‘real world’ and now work in London.
Through this blog I hope to share my stories, experiences and reviews of gluten free life. I love to cook and bake but my shared flat does not allow much room for this! So for the time being there will probably be more restaurants than recipes on here. The restaurants will mainly encompass gluten free London, although New York will also make regular appearances from my visits home.
